Transport Request Board Description
PetFinder.com This site has been around for years and is one of the most widely used. Our flight planners use this as our primary source of information on animals needing transportation. If you need a transport, please post it there.
Yahoo.com Yahoo's Dog Transport List is another source to check frequently for animals needing to be transported.

Other Volunteer Organizations Description
Freedom Train Animal Rescue Transports The Freedom Train is a mode of free, volunteer-based transportation designed to rescue animals from high kill shelters and abusive/neglectful situations, and transport them to screened and approved rescues and forever homes. This system is able to be successful, thanks to a large network of people who volunteer their time, gas money, and hearts, in order to see the animals reach their havens.
Operation Roger... Truckers Pet Transport Operation Roger is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization comprised of regional and long-haul truckers who volunteer their time to share their love of animals with people who run animal shelters or animal rescue groups who are trying to save the lives of pets. They can also help other pet owners by providing pet transportation in special circumstances such as family illness or loss of a loved one.
Remote Area Medical The Remote Area Medical® (RAM) Volunteer Corps is a non-profit, volunteer, airborne relief corps dedicated to serving mankind by providing free health care, dental care, eye care, veterinary services, and technical and educational assistance to people in remote areas of the United States and the world. Founded in 1985, Remote Area Medical® is a publicly supported all-volunteer charitable organization. Volunteer doctors, nurses, pilots, veterinarians and support workers participate in expeditions (at their own expense) in some of the world's most exciting places. Medical supplies, medicines, facilities and vehicles are donated.
Humane Society The Humane Society of the United States is committed to supporting efforts to reduce the population of stray and unwanted companion animals. From data and outreach materials developed through The Gulf Coast Project, our ongoing large-scale study of spay/neuter messaging in Louisiana and Mississippi, to our comprehensive directory of feral cat materials, we offer a wealth of resources for those interested in starting or expanding community spay/neuter programs.

Flight Planning Resources Description
Kyler's Nearby Airport Locator Perfect for locating airports near shelters!
Great Circle Mapper A highly robust mapping site for illustrating air transport routes using multiple legs. Just add labels. We are deeply grateful to Karl Swartz for his assistance in using his maps.
AirNav.com This site offers a comprehensive database of every airport in the country. We use it to get detailed airport information on runways, availability of fuel, Fixed Base Operators (businesses to meet at), and distances to other airports.
RunwayFinder.com Not only does Runway Finder give pilots the unique ability to plan routes on actual VFR and IFR sectionals, they have been instrumental in providing Animal Rescue Flights with extensive technical support throughout our flight planning process. We are deeply grateful to Dave Parsons for his generous contributions.
MapQuest.com This popular site is used to find the distance between the shelters and the airports. You can get this by putting in the addresses of both locations.
